The staff of bowsher + bowsher Law Firm

bowsher + bowsher was established in January, 2005 by Stew Bowsher who was anticipating the graduation of his twin daughters, Ali and Lane, from law school the following year. The family was excited to work together and to provide legal services in a friendly and inviting environment that has family values at its very core.

Stew grew up in St. Thomas and graduated from Central Elgin Collegiate Institute where he was active in sports, particularly basketball. He then attended the University of Western Ontario where he received his BA and LLB.

Stew began his legal career in St. Thomas following his call to the bar in 1981. He partnered with Murray J. Hennessey in 1983 to form Hennessey Bowsher & Associates and remained with that firm through it metamorphoses to Hennessey, Bowsher, Gibson & Carrie. In 2005, anticipating his daughters' graduation from law school, Stew opened bowsher + bowsher Law Firm.

Family and Sports have always been part of Stewart's life. It was his family that inspired Stew to develop the St. Thomas High Tops Basketball Organization (now the St. Thomas Shock), which he founded in the early 1990s. The organization continues to run travel, house league, and clinic programs for boys and girls in St. Thomas and Elgin County.

Stew and his wife Sandy live in St. Thomas. They are the parents of Ali, Lane, and Mallory, and their favourite thing to do is spend time with their grandchildren Cole, Will, Kaye, Gus, Van, and Bode.

Ali was born and raised in St. Thomas , where she attended Central Elgin Collegiate Institute before heading to the University of Waterloo for a BA (Hon) English Literature. Ali then attended the University of Western Ontario Law School where she obtained her LLB in 2006.

Ali articled in St. Thomas under the mentoring of A. John Sanders and Jack Huber and joined bowsher + bowsher following her call to the bar in 2007.

Ali is a past member of the Board of Directors of the Elgin-St. Thomas United Way , and enjoys playing recreational basketball & volleyball in St. Thomas . Ali lives in St. Thomas with her husband Shaun, son Will, and daughter Kaye.

Lane was born and raised in St. Thomas and graduated from Central Elgin Collegiate in 1999. Lane attended the University of Waterloo where she obtained a Bachelor of Sciences (Hon) degree before attending the University of Windsor Law School, where she earned her LLB in 2006.

Lane accepted an articling position in London under the mentoring of Richard Mahoney of Thomson Mahoney Delorey, then joined her sister and father at bowsher + bowsher following her call to the bar in 2007.
